Are You a Horse? by Andy Rash
This one is just plain fun! Cowboy Roy is given a saddle. He is given the directions to #1 Find a Horse and #2 Enjoy the Ride. If only he knew what a horse was. He then runs about asking that all important question, “Are you a Horse?” Each time he learns something more about horses. The cactus tells him a horse is an animal. The snake tells him a horse has legs. The sloth tells him a horse moves quickly. Finally, Roy finds a HORSE! The cowboy puts the saddle on his back and offers that horse a ride. The picture indicates they are indeed enjoying the ride.
Just the right kind of silly to share with a group of children. They will recognize all the ways in which cowboy Roy has got it wrong. Smiles and laughs and even a bit of a logic lesson as Roy collects the clues to be able to recognize a horse. The pictures are big and bright which will also make this great to share with a group.
